Focus on Training!
Good day, Everyone!
It's been a hectic couple of weeks since returning from "Down Under". Lots of admin, and all, but now - I'm back into training. It's coming along very well, as I'm aiming to increase my core strength right now. I continue to bike each day, and I do a workout most days - often after work. The intensity isn't too high right now, but it's increasing each week. I'm looking forward to the warm weather - those days where the humidity is super high in the morning, and you get out to run and you feel like you're swimming through the air - oooh! It's just awesome!

Sudbury Star Article - OnLine!!
Good day!
Whew! Well, it took some doing, but finally the article from the Sudbury Star is online!
I'd like to thank Matt Pietryzyn (
MP Solutions) for helping out on this one! I'm still learning the ropes wrt html and stuff, and he gave me a hand today!
It's a beautiful day in Ottawa, today! And I had a great bike home from work!
Training is just starting to pick up, now that I've gotten used to Ottawa time again (that trip to Australia screwed me up for a few days!) I've been biking, and in a couple days, I'll be done with a huge chunk of admin that I've been working on for the trip, so I'll be able to spend more time in the evenings on training - and I'm totally psyched to get started!
Alrighty, Everyone! Get out there and enjoy that sunshine!

Sudbury Star - Article - Update!
Hey Folks!
I know you're looking forward to seeing this article! Lara Bradley kindly arranged for me to get the article today (and it looks great by the way!)
Okay, but I'm an experimenter - and, well, I tried a little something and it didn't work out all that well - but do not fear. Now that I know that particular option doesn't work, I'll be sure to get the article on the site tomorrow (Wed, 18 April!)
Thanks for your patience everyone!
The Sudbury Star - Article!
Good day,
I just wanted to thank Lara Bradley and the Sudbury Star for printing such wonderful article on my climbing adventure! My hometown support is greatly appreciated.
Growing up in Sudbury was an awesome experience, and I had so much fun. The endless "bush" and lakes made adventure easy, and it significantly helped spark the spirit that I attribute to my success in climbing, today.
Hopefully, you will all have a chance to view the article, as well, and see what a terrific Mrs Bradley did! I'll keep you updated on this issue as it progresses!
Ciao!
Thank you, LaPrairie Inc. - Advanced Basecamp Sponsor!
Wow!
What a week it is turning out to be!
Many thanks goes out to
LaPrairie Incorporated! They will be supporting me in my attempt to be the first woman in the Canadian Forces to climb Mount Everest and achieve the Seven Summits!
This is wonderful news, as they are the first major sponsor to jump on board this exciting adventure. I'm very grateful to them for their support, and I will be honoured represent their company with strong determination and committment throughout the training required for the climb, and on the climb itself.
Visit
LaPrairie Inc and see what they are all about!

It was just a matter of getting onto a computer that allowed me access to my own files - and I have had success! The website has been updated (which you may know if you are visiting this blog!) - and now that I have rediscovered the beauty of internet cafes - there shouldn't be anymore delays in updating the site!
Alrighty-hope you enjoy the updates, and please know that there are more to follow!
Cheers

Mount Kosciuszko - Success!
Good day, Everyone!
I have successfully climbed Mount Kosciuszko - the highest mountain in Australia, on 1 April 2006! This is number 6 of the 7 Summits - and now, only one more to go - Mount Everest, in April 2007!
My climbing partner for the day, Andre Dupuis, and I left early to begin the hike. We drove to the trailhead at Charlottes Pass, where it was overcast and a bit chilly. The wind was very strong, and it seemed to gain strength as we made our way up to the summit. It was a very nice hike to the top, where we snapped some photos, and then quickly made our way back down to the trailhead. It was a summit that was very different from the other Seven Summit mountains, as there were no ropes involved, no altitude to contend with, and only a couple hours of work - but it was exhilarating all the same. To stand on the highest point anywhere, is always an exciting moment, whether it be in some strange land, or in your own backyard! Woohoo!
I now look forward to the challenges ahead, with respect to making the attempt to climb Mount Everest a reality. Please stay tuned, as I continue to update you on my progress toward making it to the "Top of the World"!
